Hospital staff work under constant pressure. So when the opportunity arises to organize a moment of relaxation for these teams, we seize it with pleasure. Public Anim recently designed a cinema-themed event for hospital staff. On the agenda: fun challenges, a festival-style walk up the steps, and a photo session. Polaroid to keep track of the evening. Looking back at this activity, its highlights, and what it brings to teams that particularly need it.

The objective was simple: to offer hospital staff a real moment of pause, away from their scrubs and tight schedules. No endless speeches, no rigid format. Just a warm welcome, a lighthearted atmosphere, and activities that bring a smile. The cinema theme lent itself well to this. Everyone has a favorite reference, an actor, or a cult movie. It's common ground that puts participants at ease from the very first minutes, regardless of their department or seniority.
Once the participants were welcomed, the activity began with a series of challenges designed to mix up the teams and gradually build the excitement.
First challenge, first burst of laughter. The teams had to recognize movie titles from a series of emojis. A seemingly simple exercise, but one that requires collective thinking and a good dose of humor. It's often these types of accessible challenges that break the ice between colleagues who don't see each other every day.

Second test: estimate the weight of the famous golden statuette awarded each year in Hollywood. The correct answer is quite surprising. According to Wikipedia, the Oscar measures 34 centimeters and weighs approximately 3.8 kg, a weight that most participants greatly underestimate. This type of question provides a calmer pause between two more physical challenges, while still keeping the theme in mind.
Third challenge: identify famous actors and actresses from photos taken long before they were famous. The exercise combines cinema culture and observation skills, and leads to real discussions between teams comparing their hypotheses before validating an answer.

To conclude the challenges, it's time for the red carpet. Each participant got to experience their own festival moment, complete with a photo shoot. Instant Polaroid pictures were taken on the spot so everyone could leave with a tangible memory of the evening, rather than just a photo lost in a shared folder.
Once the four challenges were complete, it was time to tally the points and announce the results. This moment brought everyone together around a leaderboard that sparked just as much discussion as the challenges themselves. The evening ended with a shared meal, a classic yet essential highlight: it’s often during this time that the most heartfelt conversations take place, once the competition has died down.

Behind an evening that seems to flow effortlessly, there is a team that prepares every detail in advance. The entertainment for this evening was provided by our comedian Diane Despois, which was the common thread of the evening from the first to the last challenge. The direction and logistics were handled by Alan Duval, Team member Public Anim, responsible for the smooth technical running of the event from beginning to end.
It is this two-level work, animation and logistics, that allows a professional microphone animator to have an evening with no downtime, even with a diverse audience like that of a hospital, including healthcare, administrative, and technical teams.
This creation of a tailor-made game, as part of an animation of Team Building in Val d'Oise, confirm our great activity for the summer of 2026. Two weeks prior, we developed it alongside actors participatory theater for the city of Vitry-sur-Seine. All our games are custom-made, and to test them, we can count on the 80 startups and more than 200 entrepreneurs present in our favorite premises in Cergy-Pontoise., The Turbine.
The theme of cinema is particularly well-suited for large groups. Challenges can be divided among several teams, allowing for groups ranging from about thirty participants to a much larger number. For organizations that bring together many people, such as hospitals or large companies, find our Team building ideas for 50 to 150 people.
Many teams have already tried the blind test or escape game. The cinema theme brings a fresh variation, with its own codes: red carpet, statuette, souvenir photos. It’s a good option for a team that has already explored our other Team building activities and is looking for a different format for their next party.
Hospital staff face demanding work rhythms with few opportunities to connect outside of a professional setting. A casual evening event, organized at or near the workplace, can foster connections between departments that rarely interact. This isn't a luxury; it's a moment that directly contributes to daily team cohesion.
